Why LAD Exists

A big reason Lady Anglers Downunder exists today started with something that frustrated me years ago.

When I first got properly hooked on fishing, I’d jump on Instagram hoping to find inspiration from other lady anglers.
Women who genuinely loved being out there chasing fish.

But most of what I found were heavily sponsored accounts featuring models holding fish to promote brands.
And while there’s absolutely a place for that in the industry… it just wasn’t what I was searching for.

I wanted to see real women who actually love fishing.

Women who wake up early.
Who fish land-based.
Who celebrate their PBs and laugh about the ones that got away.

Because I knew they were out there…
they just weren’t always front and centre.

So, in 2020 I created Lady Anglers Downunder.

Not to compete.
Not to gatekeep.
Not to say who’s better than who.

Just to showcase, support, and connect women who love fishing. 🎣

Over time, it’s become a bit more than that.

It’s not just about the catches…
it’s about the stories behind them.
The early mornings, the misses, the wins, and the confidence that builds along the way.
